Corona Virus Update

The health and safety of the COAST community is of the utmost importance to us, so we are sending this correspondence to all our clients who attend the clinic or who are booked to attend in the next month and beyond.

Like everyone around the world, we are monitoring the situation closely and will endeavour to inform you regarding any updates based on the information we have.

Currently Cheltenham Osteopathic Clinic is completely safe to attend and we are being very vigilant to ensure it stays that way as we follow the advice of the authorities regarding COVID-19.

Our staff are rigorously following all hygiene principles to continue to keep the clinic safe to attend. These include asking all patients to use hand sanitiser upon entering and exiting the clinic, disinfecting all hard surfaces regularly throughout the day, screening patients coming into the clinic and consistent exchange of clean linen.

Whilst we continue to do everything at our end to uphold the guidleines and advice of WHO, Osteopathy Australia and the Australian Government Department of Health, we also ask our clients to adhere to the following – please do not attend our clinic if:

  • You have been in any of the high risk declared zones in the past month (China, Iran, Republic of Korea, Italy)
  • You have been in contact with anyone who has been travelling in those zones or are concerned you may have been in contact with anyone that has Coronavirus

If you have recently travelled to a moderate risk zone, monitor your health for 14 days after leaving that country. If you develop a fever, sore throat or cough, seek medical advice urgently, isolate yourself and call reception to cancel any impending appointments.

We recommend that everyone pay particular attention to good hygiene practices including:

  • Washing your hands often with soap and running water, for at least 20 seconds. Drying your hands with a paper towel or hand dryer.
  • Trying not to touch your eyes, nose or mouth.
  • Covering your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze. If you don’t have a tissue cough or sneeze into your upper sleeve or elbow.
  • Buy alcohol-based hand sanitiser with over 60 per cent alcohol. If you don’t have any please use the one placed in every treatment room and at front reception before having any treatment.
  • Phone your GP first if you need medical attention. They will tell you what to do, including if you are safe to attend your consultation with us.
  • Continue healthy habits: exercise, drink water, get plenty of sleep.
  • Don’t wear a face mask if you are well.
  • Shaking hands may not be best practice at this time so forgive us if we don’t.
  • Please if you are healthy continue to function as normal including doing all your stretches and exercises and come and see us as per normal. We are not panicking about the Coronavirus and nor should you, but we need to stay informed and educated.

The most up to date information on COVID-19 (Coronavirus) can be found at the Australian Government Department of Health website.

Should the situation change, we will inform you immediately via this forum.

Thanks – the team at COAST.
